Social Media Manager (Part-Time)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Social Media Manager to join our team, part-time on a 6-month contract. This candidate will use Grounded’s existing Social Media Playbook to execute social media campaigns, create compelling social media content, and grow our social media following. They may work with members of our artist collective, including Lil Buck, Valerie June, Drumma Boy, Amanda Lucidon, Alan Spearman, Mark Adams, Paul Taylor, Terry Lynn, Dr. Rico, Sister Peace, Philip Adams, Chris Dean and Devonte Holloway, to amplify messages that support Grounded’s mission. They will also be responsible for iterating on our existing strategy to showcase the impactful work Grounded is doing with and for our partners.

It is strongly preferred but not required for applicants for this position to be based in or around Memphis, TN as there will be occasional on-site events to attend, but otherwise work will be conducted remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute social media campaigns across various platforms (primarily Instagram) to promote Grounded's work and mission

  • Develop and implement a social media content calendar to ensure a regular and consistent stream of content is published

  • Organize a content library of evergreen creative content from Grounded’s network of artists and students

  • Monitor and respond to social media activity, engaging with followers, and responding to inquiries and comments in a timely manner

  • Take visually compelling content (graphics, images, videos) from Grounded’s artist and student network and produce posts and reels that align with Grounded's social media guide, brand, and mission

  • Monitor and report on the success of social media campaigns, using data to inform future campaigns

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and developments, adapting strategies as needed to stay ahead of the curve

  • Collaborate with the Grounded team to identify opportunities for social media content and promotion


You’ll be a great candidate if you have:

  • Passion for social impact and a commitment to the mission and values of Grounded

  • Demonstrated experience executing successful social media campaigns across multiple platforms

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong visual and creative skills, with an eye for detail, design, and innovation

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and use insights to inform future campaigns

It’s a bonus if you also have:

  • 1-4 years of experience in social media management or a related field

  • Experience working professionally with artists and creatives

Role Details

  • This position is classified as an independent contractor.

  • This is a temporary (6 month) position, with the opportunity to renew at the end of the contract.

  • The estimated workload is 40 hours per month, with the flexibility to adjust monthly based on the project's needs.

  • It is strongly preferred but not required for applicants to be based in or around Memphis, TN.

  • Compensation for this position is in the range of 1,500 - 2,000 USD per month, depending on level of experience.
